VAN ELST, a project of Dutch musician Frank van der Ploeg, uses organic samples and pop sensibilities to create dark, dreamy experimental electronica. Weaving together themes of passion, obsession, and insecurity, his music and relating artwork are a mournful, cathartic soundtrack to London’s urban decay. Influences include Kraftwerk, Tycho, & Oscar & the Wolf.
